Thereareothermarvelstobeamazedbysuchasatransformationscenewhereawomanmutatesintoasetoflips!Othertransformationsaretoohorrifyingtodiscussandthentherearethosesacredtoothpicksplantedintoaheadlesslivingcorpseaswellasanarrayofspectacularspecialeffects.Thisfilmhastheabilitytostuneventhemostjadedhorrorfilmfanwithitsspectacularlystrangeplot,themagnificentgoreandspecialeffectsbutperhapstherealstrengthofthefilmisthatitsmind-bogglingplotiscompletelyhomespunandnotjustliftedfromsomerecentHollywoodhitthoughtherewillbethosewhowillrecallthemoonlightdanceroutinecompletewithrollingheadbythegraveinEvilDead2thatwasalsosuchadelight.ItshouldbenotedatthispointthatthisfilmwasmadebeforeEvilDeadeversawthelightofdaysothequestionofborrowingdoesn't’tarise.
